Education and Training Committee

Realizing the importance of education and transmitting our ancestral legacy to the society, Haft Tappeh and Tchogha Zanbil World Heritage Base initiated the education and training committee in August, 2005. This committee began to work aiming to make use of cultural-heritage capacities for teaching preservation in a tangible fashion, presenting students and their families with significant values of the cultural heritage in the form of lessons relevant to history, encouraging people to participate in safeguarding historical sites and buildings, and promoting the habits and cultures of visiting historical site and museums.
The most important activities carried out by the committee for the children and teenagers are students’ visiting the sites; their participation in preparing restoration materials and restoring few parts of the historical buildings with the help and guidance of craftsmen; holding competitions for essay writing, painting, sports, and pottery making; producing films and educational packages; holding training courses by base experts at schools; having students take part in cleaning the historical sites; and designing posters with different topics about children and cultural heritage.
Moreover, holding conferences and speeches at Haft Tappeh Museum and also in other cities for introducing Tchogha Zanbil cultural heritage, training workshops for cultural-heritage experts, tourism-related workshops for empowering local communities; producing films and introductory clips about Tchogha Zanbil and Haft Tappeh Museum; designing posters for various national and international occasions are some other education and training committee programs.
The base’s education and training committee is trying to achieve its goals and objectives relying on past experience, global standards for introducing historical sites and buildings, modern sciences concerning child education, and interrelationship with local communities.
